Coal India Q1 FY26-27: Revenue from operations rose 8% to ₹46,255 Cr; PAT up 0.7% at ₹8,850 Cr. Coal production fell 7% to 169.63 MT but offtake rose 4% to 197.86 MT. Average realisation up 3% at ₹2,277 per tonne. Operating margin improved from 19% to 21%, net profit margin from 18% to 19%. New launches: first coal gasification project worth ₹25,000 Cr (CIL-BHEL JV), 200 MW solar at Khavda, and Bhojudih washery at BCCL. First energy sale revenue of ₹5.68 Cr recorded.
Diversification into gasification and solar signals long-term growth beyond coal. Flat PAT despite revenue rise shows cost pressures from rates and outsourcing.
