CRISIL has upgraded Cohance Lifesciences' long-term rating on its Rs. 72.5 crore bank loan facilities from CRISIL A+ to CRISIL AA- with a Positive outlook, and removed it from 'Rating Watch with Positive Implications'. The short-term rating has been reaffirmed at CRISIL A1+. The upgrade follows the completion of the amalgamation merger (effective May 1, 2025) and recent acquisitions of NJ Bio Inc and Sapala Organics, which have significantly strengthened the company's pharma CDMO business. CRISIL noted that operating income is expected to more than double to over Rs. 2,700 crore in fiscal 2026, with a strong financial profile, minimal debt, and networth projected to reach Rs. 3,200 crore.
This is a clear positive signal for shareholders — the rating upgrade reflects stronger business fundamentals, improved scale, and a robust financial position, which could boost investor confidence and potentially support the stock price. The Positive outlook suggests CRISIL may consider further upgrades if revenue reaches ~Rs. 3,000 crore with margins above 30%.
