Colgate-Palmolive (India) held its 84th AGM on July 22, 2025 via video conferencing, chaired by Mr. Mukul Deoras with 70 shareholders attending. Four ordinary/special resolutions were transacted, including adoption of FY25 audited financials, re-appointment of director Mr. Jacob Sebastian Madukkakuzy, appointment of M/s. Dholakia & Associates LLP as Secretarial Auditors, and payment of commission to Independent Directors. The Chairperson highlighted FY25 performance: revenue up 6.3% YoY, domestic net sales up 5.6%, net profit after tax up 8.5%, operating cash flow up 10% to a record, total dividend of ₹51 per share, and ad spend up 7%. However, Q1 FY26 (ended June 30, 2025) showed a dip, with net sales at ₹1,421 Crore (vs ₹1,486 Crore YoY) and net profit at ₹321 Crore (vs ₹364 Crore YoY), attributed to tough operating conditions. Management expects gradual recovery in the second half of the year.
Positive long-term signal from FY25 growth in revenue, profit, and cash flow, plus a higher dividend payout. However, the Q1 FY26 year-on-year decline in both sales and profit may create near-term pressure on the stock despite management's confidence in a second-half recovery.
