Companies should focus on business growth, profitability rather than just share price: NSE chief

NSE chief Ashishkumar Chauhan addressed the 9th JITO Incubation and Innovation Foundation event, advising entrepreneurs to prioritise business growth and profitability over share price movements. He stated that market valuation should reflect actual business performance, and noted that companies earning Rs 2 crore annually could command a market capitalisation of about Rs 40-50 crore post-listing. Chauhan also emphasised the importance of compliance, governance, and innovation after entering public markets.
