Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals reported Q1 FY26 standalone revenue of Rs. 1,819 Cr, with EBIT at Rs. 155 Cr (8.5% margin) and PAT at Rs. 125 Cr (6.9% margin). The company became a zero-debt entity after repaying a Rs. 300 Cr NCD, while remaining net cash positive. ECD segment declined ~8% versus industry decline of ~11%, driven by seasonal headwinds in TPW, air coolers and pumps, though management cited market share gains. Solar pumps business doubled YoY, bolstered by a record Rs. 101 Cr order from the Maharashtra Energy Development Agency. Small Domestic Appliances grew at a healthy 15-18%, while Lighting delivered strong results with EBIT up 41% YoY and margins expanding 370 bps to 12.6%. Butterfly's revenue rose 3% to Rs. 187 Cr with EBITDA up 39% YoY. Management announced ambitious 2035 sustainability targets and a new greenfield manufacturing unit with Rs. 350 Cr capex over 2-3 years.
Investors should note the company held material margins and gained market share despite a weak seasonal quarter, reinforced by a debt-free, net cash positive balance sheet. Strong momentum in solar pumps, SDA, and lighting profitability supports the medium-term growth narrative, though near-term demand remains dependent on festive and seasonal recovery.
