CSB Bank reported Q1 FY26 results with deposits growing 20% YoY to ₹35,935 crore and net advances up 31% YoY to ₹32,552 crore, driven by a 36% jump in gold loans. Net Interest Income rose 5% YoY to ₹379 crore, while non-interest income surged 42% YoY to ₹245 crore. Operating profit grew 28% YoY to ₹220 crore, and Profit After Tax rose 5% YoY to ₹119 crore. Cost-to-income ratio improved to 65% from 68%, and Capital Adequacy Ratio stood strong at 21.71%. Asset quality remained stable with GNPA at 1.84% and NNPA at 0.66%.
Strong loan and deposit growth along with improved efficiency are positives, but modest PAT growth and slightly higher slippages (GNPA up from 1.69%) may temper near-term enthusiasm. The successful CBS migration and stable CRAR position the bank well for its 'SBS 2030' growth vision, which could support medium-term investor confidence.
