Cube Highways Trust raised ₹1,152 crore through AAA-rated non-convertible debentures in two tranches on a private placement basis. The 3-year tranche of ₹552 crore was priced at 7.2503% and the 7-year tranche of ₹600 crore at 7.3006%. Both series were oversubscribed — about 2.6x for the 3-year paper and 2x for the 7-year paper — with participation from 5 mutual funds, 4 insurance companies, a pension fund, and NBFCs. The proceeds will entirely refinance existing floating-rate rupee loans, so total debt stays unchanged. After the transaction, fixed-rate borrowings will make up 28% of the Trust's obligations and overall borrowing cost is expected to come down by 12 basis points.
Neutral-to-positive for unitholders. The issuance reflects strong investor confidence and diversifies the Trust's funding base, while locking in lower fixed rates and reducing borrowing costs without adding to overall debt levels.
