Dalal Street Investments Ltd reported weak Q3 FY2025-26 results with nil revenue from operations and a net loss of Rs. 18.17 lakhs, reversing the Rs. 28.37 lakh profit in the preceding Q2. Total revenue for the quarter was just Rs. 0.19 lakhs versus Rs. 28.85 lakhs in Q3 of the previous year. For the nine-month period (9M FY26), the company posted a net loss of Rs. 13.89 lakhs against a profit of Rs. 55.12 lakhs in 9M FY25, with total revenue nearly halving to Rs. 62.24 lakhs from Rs. 130.82 lakhs. Employee costs and depreciation continue to be incurred despite the absence of operating revenue, driving the losses. On a positive note, outstanding debt fell sharply to Rs. 129.03 lakhs from Rs. 310.77 lakhs a year earlier, improving the debt-equity ratio to 0.28 from 0.54. The statutory auditor (Karia & Shah) issued an unqualified limited review report with no qualifications or emphasis of matter.
Shareholders should note a clear deterioration in core earnings — the company swung to a quarterly loss with zero operating revenue, which is a negative signal despite improved debt metrics. The lack of recurring revenue and ongoing fixed costs raise concerns about near-term profitability, though debt levels have been meaningfully reduced.
