Dalmia Bharat Sugar's Board has approved altering its Memorandum of Association to add a new sub-clause enabling the company to enter the biofuels and renewable energy sector. The amendment allows the company to manufacture, process, and trade various biofuels including bio-ethanol, bio-methanol, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), HVO, bio-diesel, and bio-CNG. It also covers green hydrogen and renewable chemicals production. The change is subject to shareholder approval via Special Resolution and RoC registration. As a sugar company with access to sugarcane, molasses, and bagasse, this diversification leverages existing agricultural feedstock for the renewable energy space.
Positive for shareholders as the company is diversifying beyond sugar into high-growth renewable energy and biofuel markets, potentially opening new revenue streams and aligning with India's green energy push.
