Dalmia Bharat Sugar reported its highest-ever annual profit of Rs. 387 Cr for FY25, up 42% from the previous year, on revenue of Rs. 3,746 Cr (up 29%). Q4 FY25 was a landmark quarter with revenue of Rs. 1,018 Cr (up 36%) and PAT of Rs. 206 Cr (up 126%), driven by record sugar realizations of Rs. 38.9/kg and a 5% YoY rise in average sugar prices. Sugar sales volumes hit an all-time high of 5.9 LMT domestically, while the grain distillery grew 72% YoY to 6.2 Cr liters on capacity expansion. The company cut its total borrowings by Rs. 386 Cr (from Rs. 1,430 Cr to Rs. 1,044 Cr) and the board has recommended a final dividend of Rs. 1.50 per share. Additionally, the NCLT has approved the merger of Baghauli Sugar and Distillery with the company, effective April 1, 2024.
Strong record-breaking results, debt reduction, and a dividend declaration signal healthy financial health and should be viewed positively by shareholders. However, management flagged headwinds in cane distillery profitability due to unchanged ethanol prices, which could cap upside in that segment.
