Dalmia Bharat reported its highest-ever quarterly EBITDA of Rs 883 Cr in Q1 FY26, up 32% year-on-year, with EBITDA per ton rising 40% to Rs 1,261. Sales volume declined 5.8% YoY to 7.0 MnT (partly due to the end of Jaypee tolling volumes from July 2024), while net sales realization improved 6.6% to Rs 5,193/T. The company announced a fresh Rs 3,287 Cr investment to set up a 3.6 MnTPA clinker unit and 6 MnTPA grinding unit at Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, plus a 3 MnTPA bulk terminal in Chennai, targeted for commissioning in Q2 FY28. Net Debt/EBITDA stood at a healthy 0.33x, cost of borrowing dropped to 7.5%, and the company divested a 4.1% stake in IEX for Rs 742 Cr as part of its non-core asset exit plan.
Strong margin expansion and record EBITDA signal robust pricing power and cost efficiency, likely to be viewed positively by investors. The new Rs 3,287 Cr capex announcement and multi-year capacity roadmap (reaching 49.5 MnTPA by FY28) underline long-term growth visibility, while the low leverage and stake monetization provide balance sheet strength.
