One of three kilns at Dalmia Bharat's Rajgangpur (Odisha) cement plant suffered a sudden breakdown on 13 March 2026 and was out of operation for 14 days. The company carried out repairs and successfully relit the kiln on 27 March 2026, with clinker output resuming and dispatch to grinding units in Odisha, West Bengal and Jharkhand returning to normal. Because the plant was already running on low clinker inventory, cement sales in eastern markets took a hit of roughly 2.5 to 3.0 lakh tonnes for March 2026. The company has apologised to channel partners for supply disruptions during the peak demand season and assured that supply chains are being normalised. The company clarified that this is not a material event under SEBI's Listing Regulations and is being shared voluntarily for stakeholder information.
Short-term hit of about 2.5–3 lakh tonnes in March sales is a temporary operational disruption, not a structural issue. The kiln is back online, so impact is largely confined to the current quarter and should not materially affect long-term prospects, though near-term volume numbers may look softer.
