Defence stock Garden Reach Shipbuilders jumps 5% after being conferred with Navratna status

Share price of Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers surged nearly 5% after the Department of Public Enterprises granted the defence PSU Navratna status, reflecting its sustained growth and execution track record. The company's revenue from operations has risen nearly fourfold over five years, from about 1,754 crore rupees in FY22 to 7,002 crore rupees in FY26, while profit after tax grew around 294% from 190 crore rupees to 748 crore rupees. The Navratna upgrade will grant greater financial autonomy, enabling larger investments, capacity expansion, and new business opportunities.
