Disclosure of defaults on payment of interest/repayment of principal amount
Awaiting price reaction for this filing.
Jaiprakash Associates Ltd (JAL) has filed its monthly disclosure of loan defaults for August 2025, as required under SEBI's November 2019 circular. The company has total outstanding borrowings of Rs 55,371.21 crore as on 15 August 2025 from 18 lenders including SBI, PNB, Canara Bank, Bank of Baroda, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, NARCL, ARCIL, ACRE, and Bank of New York Mellon. JAL has been under the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) since 3 June 2024 after an NCLT order, with Mr. Bhuvan Madan acting as the Resolution Professional. All lenders are currently in the process of filing and verifying their claims under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code.
This is a routine compliance filing given the company is already in insolvency resolution. Shareholders face continued uncertainty as the fate of the company and their equity value depends on the outcome of the IBC resolution process. The massive debt of over Rs 55,000 crore highlights the severity of the financial distress, and equity holders are likely at significant risk of dilution or writedown depending on the resolution plan.
