Dixon Tech, Syrma SGS, Amber shares surge up to 6%. What does customs duty relief mean?

The government extended customs duty relief on machinery and components used in lithium-ion battery, display assembly, and smartphone manufacturing until March 31, 2029. The revised exemption list covers 85 types of equipment across the lithium-ion battery production cycle, six components for inductor coil modules in wireless charging, and five components for display assemblies. Shares of Syrma SGS, Dixon Technologies, and Amber Enterprises surged up to 6%, 5%, and 3% respectively, as the duty relief is expected to lower input costs and improve margins for the Electronics Manufacturing Services sector.
