Dixon Technologies has signed definitive agreements (Share Subscription and Shareholders' Agreement) with HKC Overseas Limited, an affiliate of China's HKC Corporation, to form a joint venture for manufacturing and distributing Liquid Crystal Modules, thin-film transistor LCD modules, and assembling smartphones, TVs, monitors, and auto displays in India. The JV will be housed in Dixon Display Technologies Private Limited (DDTPL), with Dixon holding 74% and HKC holding 26%. Dixon's investment will be USD 31.30 million and HKC's will be USD 10.998 million. DDTPL currently has nil turnover and a negative net worth of INR 12.82 lakh. The deal is expected to close by December 2026, subject to regulatory approvals including those under Press Note 3 of 2020.
This is a strategic move that gives Dixon access to HKC's display technology and global brand, expanding its footprint in the high-value display manufacturing segment. Dixon retains a controlling 74% stake, ensuring operational dominance while sharing investment risk with a major international display player.
