Zappfresh (DSM Fresh Foods) has launched a new frozen vegetarian snacks brand called Meevaa Foods, starting with 12 products including samosas, momos, kebabs, patties, tikkis, spring rolls, and gravies. The company plans to invest around ₹10 crore over the next 2-3 years to scale its frozen food operations and expand its portfolio. Products will be available in Delhi NCR from February 9, followed by Mumbai and Bengaluru from March 1. The range uses export-certified facilities and is already being shipped to the US, Canada, and Saudi Arabia, with imports and exports expected to account for 15-20% of frozen food volumes.
This signals a strategic expansion into the high-growth ready-to-eat frozen food segment, which could boost future revenues but the ₹10 crore investment spread over 2-3 years suggests a gradual ramp-up rather than an immediate large revenue impact.
