East India Drums and Barrels Manufacturing has secured a contract through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) from Munitions India Limited, a Central PSU under the Ministry of Defence. The order is for 1,500 units of 200-litre capacity steel barrels with lid and ring locking arrangement, valued at ₹39.60 lakh inclusive of all taxes. Delivery is to be made to Ordnance Factory Bhandara in Maharashtra between 18 December 2025 and 16 June 2026. The buyer has the option to increase or decrease the order quantity by up to 25%. The company highlights this as strengthening its presence in the defence sector.
A relatively small order in absolute value, but it demonstrates continued trust from a defence PSU in the company's manufacturing capabilities. For shareholders, this signals entry and growing traction in the defence supply chain, though the contract size is modest and unlikely to materially move the stock on its own.
