VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV), the unlisted material subsidiary of Eicher Motors, reported sales volumes for April 2026. Total VECV sales grew 6.9% to 7,318 units from 6,846 units in April 2025. Domestic sales showed strong growth of 8.6% at 6,797 units, driven by robust performance in SCV/LMD trucks (+17.9%) and HD trucks (+14.9%). However, exports declined significantly by 21.3% to 362 units from 460 units, with bus exports falling sharply by 74.2% and SCV/LMD exports down 24.2%. Volvo trucks and buses grew 23.3% to 159 units. Overall truck and bus volumes for Eicher brand rose 6.6% to 7,159 units.
The domestic commercial vehicle business shows healthy growth momentum, particularly in light and medium-duty trucks, which is positive for Eicher Motors. However, the significant decline in exports, especially in bus segments, may raise concerns about international market conditions.
