Royal Enfield, the mid-size motorcycle segment leader and subsidiary of Eicher Motors, announced plans to acquire land in Tada (Tirupati), Andhra Pradesh for a new greenfield manufacturing facility. The planned investment is approximately ₹2,500 crores, subject to board approval, to be implemented in phases calibrated to market demand. The company currently operates at near-full capacity of 14.6 lakh units per year across four facilities in Tamil Nadu. A separate ₹958 crore expansion at Cheyyar, Tamil Nadu was announced in February 2026, which will raise total capacity to 20 lakh units. This new Andhra Pradesh facility would further augment capacity toward the target of 2 million units annually.
This announcement signals strong growth ambitions and addresses capacity constraints, which could be positive for long-term revenue growth. However, it involves significant future capex of ₹2,500 crores, and the phased implementation approach suggests cautious capital deployment pending demand visibility.
