The Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) has granted Elantas Beck India a further one-year extension on the temporary revocation of the closure order at its Ankleshwar manufacturing plant in Bharuch, Gujarat. The plant was originally directed to shut down in March 2019 over a suspected ground water contamination issue, and GPCB has been periodically allowing temporary revocations ever since. Under this latest order (dated October 4, 2025), the plant will continue to operate. The company stated that no penalty or restriction has been imposed, and the financial impact is not ascertainable at this stage. Elantas is working with GPCB to secure a permanent revocation by completing all required remediation steps.
Operations at the Ankleshwar plant are unaffected for now, which is positive for continuity of production and revenue. However, the underlying closure order technically remains in force, and the company has not received permanent clearance, leaving some regulatory uncertainty until full remediation is accepted by GPCB.
