The Sponsor of Energy Infrastructure Trust, Rapid Holdings 2 Pte. Ltd., sold units of the Trust on the BSE on March 25 and March 27, 2026, through on-market transactions. On March 25, the Sponsor sold 1.84 crore units worth approximately ₹143.91 crore, bringing its holding down from 41.9% to 39.12%. On March 27, it sold an additional 14.5 lakh units worth about ₹11.31 crore, reducing its stake further to 38.90%. In total, the Sponsor trimmed its holding by roughly 3 percentage points (from 41.9% to 38.90%) for an aggregate consideration of around ₹155.22 crore. These transactions were disclosed to the Investment Manager as required under the Insider Trading Code.
This is a meaningful reduction in the Sponsor's stake, though it remains the largest unit-holder. The selling pressure from the Sponsor may weigh on unit price sentiment in the near term, but the gradual, on-market nature of the sales suggests an orderly divestment rather than a distress exit. Existing unitholders should monitor further Sponsor sell-downs, as continued reductions could impact governance and demand for the units.
