EPL Limited has invested Rs. 150 crores (around USD 17 million) in its wholly-owned subsidiary EPL Brasil Ltda. to acquire about 9.63 crore additional equity shares at a face value of R$1 each. EPL Brasil is based in Brazil and manufactures packaging tubes and related materials. After this infusion, EPL Limited will continue to hold 100% of the subsidiary. The subsidiary's turnover grew from Rs. 76.78 crores in FY24 to Rs. 151.08 crores in FY25. The transaction is classified as a related-party deal done at arm's length and is expected to be completed by August 31, 2025.
This is a routine internal capital infusion into a wholly-owned overseas subsidiary rather than new external expansion. It strengthens the financial position of the Brazil unit, which is showing strong revenue growth, but is unlikely to materially change EPL Limited's consolidated outlook in the short term.
