Escorts Kubota Limited reported standalone Q2FY26 revenue of Rs. 2,777.4 crore, up 22.6% year-on-year, driven by strong tractor volumes of 33,877 units (up 30.3% YoY). Standalone EBITDA rose 56% to Rs. 363.2 crore with margins expanding 280 basis points to 13.1%. Profit before tax (from continuing operations) grew 55.2% to Rs. 431.1 crore, while net profit after tax stood at Rs. 321.2 crore, up 6.1% YoY. The construction equipment segment remained weak, with volumes declining 17.8% YoY to 1,146 units and EBIT margin falling to 3.8%. For H1FY26, the company booked Rs. 1,601.7 crore from the Railway business divestment under discontinued operations, pushing H1 net profit to Rs. 1,721.4 crore. Consolidated Q2 revenue came in at Rs. 2,791.6 crore with net profit of Rs. 318.1 crore.
Strong tractor volume growth and margin expansion in the core agri-machinery segment are positives for shareholders, but the sharp decline in construction equipment volumes and margins signals weakness in that segment. The Railway divestment has provided a significant one-time boost to H1FY26 earnings, which may not be sustainable going forward.
