Escorts Kubota reported July 2025 tractor sales of 7,154 units, up 2.7% from 6,963 units a year ago. Domestic tractor sales grew 1.3% to 6,624 units, while export sales jumped 25.3% to 530 units, helped by healthy monsoon, higher reservoir levels and strong Kharif sowing. For the April-July FY26 period, total tractor volumes rose 1.1% to 37,735 units, but domestic sales slipped 1.3% while exports surged 63.5%. In contrast, the Construction Equipment (CE) business sold just 358 machines in July 2025, down 27.1% year-on-year, with 4M FY26 CE volumes also falling 24.6%. The company attributed the CE weakness to monsoon slowdown, project delays and higher prices after emission norm changes, but expects post-monsoon recovery from higher government infrastructure spending.
Mixed signals for shareholders: tractor business remains stable with strong export momentum, but the sharp 27% year-on-year drop in construction equipment volumes highlights near-term weakness in that segment. Investors will watch whether CE demand recovers after the monsoon and if rural demand sustains the tractor growth into the festive season.
