Ester Industries reported a strong turnaround for Q4 and FY25. On a standalone basis, total income grew 23% to Rs. 1,085 crore in FY25, while EBITDA surged 485% to Rs. 134 crore, lifting margins to 12% from 3% a year ago. Standalone PAT swung from a loss of Rs. 43 crore in FY24 to a profit of Rs. 41 crore in FY25. On a consolidated basis, FY25 revenue rose 19% to Rs. 1,298 crore with EBITDA jumping over 47x to Rs. 164 crore, and PAT improving from a loss of Rs. 121 crore to a profit of Rs. 14 crore. The Polyester Films business turned profitable with 15% growth in operational revenue, supported by better demand-supply dynamics. The Specialty Polymers segment posted a 72% revenue jump and 164% EBIT growth, led by strong demand for MB03 and Innovative PBT. Management highlighted the new Plastic Waste Management Rules (mandating 10% recycled content from April 1, 2025) as a key demand driver and noted that the Loop Industries joint venture is progressing on schedule.
A clear earnings turnaround with both businesses returning to profitability is positive for shareholders and should support sentiment around the stock. The regulatory tailwind from recycled-content packaging rules and the specialty polymers momentum provide a constructive outlook for FY26.
