Eveready Industries India has informed shareholders about TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) requirements for the dividend payout. The Board has recommended a dividend of Rs. 2.50 per equity share (face value Rs. 5) for FY 2025-26, subject to shareholder approval at the 91st AGM. Under the Income Tax Act 2025, dividend income is taxable at shareholders' hands. For resident shareholders with valid PAN, TDS will be deducted at 10%, while those without PAN or with inoperative PAN will face 20% TDS. Resident individuals with dividend up to Rs. 10,000 for the financial year are exempt from TDS. Non-resident shareholders will be taxed at 20% (plus surcharge and cess) unless they qualify for DTAA benefits. Shareholders must submit required documents to the RTA by July 31, 2026.
This is a routine compliance notification about dividend tax procedures and does not indicate any change in company fundamentals or dividend policy. The recommended dividend of Rs. 2.50 per share is positive for shareholders but the filing itself is procedural in nature.
