Exide Industries filed its investor presentation for the quarter and year ended 31st March 2025 on 6th May 2025. For FY25, the company reported revenue of Rs. 16,588 Cr (+4% YoY), EBITDA of Rs. 1,893 Cr (+1% YoY) and PBT of Rs. 1,441 Cr (+2% YoY). Q4FY25, however, was weaker with EBITDA at Rs. 467 Cr (-10% YoY) and PBT at Rs. 343 Cr (-10% YoY), even as revenue rose 4% YoY to Rs. 4,159 Cr. The company highlighted its debt-free balance sheet, zero debt-equity ratio, RoCE of 17.6% and RoE of 7.8%. Key strategic updates include progress on the 12 GWh lithium-ion cell project at Bengaluru (Rs. 3,602 Cr equity invested till April 2025), B2B growth in data centres, BESS, and railways, and margin expansion focus via automation and product mix shift.
Positive long-term narrative on lithium-ion foray and B2B/green tech opportunities, but weak Q4 margin performance (-10% YoY EBITDA) may concern short-term investors. The debt-free status and consistent cash flows offer stability, while capex on the lithium-ion project bears near-term execution risk.
