Finolex Cables shared its Q1 FY26 investor presentation with the exchanges. Revenue rose 13% year-on-year to Rs. 1,396 Cr, though it fell 12% sequentially from Q4 FY25's Rs. 1,595 Cr. EBITDA came in at Rs. 185 Cr (up 11% YoY) and PAT at Rs. 139 Cr (up 13% YoY). The Electrical Cables segment led growth, with revenue up 17% YoY driven by a doubling of power cable volumes and 16% growth in wire volumes. Communication Cables remained weak (revenue down 9% YoY, EBIT down 56% YoY) due to delays in OFC (optical fibre cable) agreements. Unseasonal rains hurt demand in agricultural and appliance categories. The company remains virtually debt-free with Rs. 4,749 Cr in equity and a strong net cash position.
Positive on a YoY basis—double-digit growth in revenue, EBITDA, and PAT signals healthy core demand, especially in power cables. However, the sequential decline and weak Communication Cables performance may cap near-term excitement. The clean balance sheet and strong promoter holding (~36%) offer stability for long-term shareholders.
