Finolex Cables reported its Q1 FY26 results. Standalone revenue from operations rose to Rs. 1,395.5 Cr, up about 13% YoY from Rs. 1,230.5 Cr in Q1 FY25. Standalone profit after tax increased roughly 13% to Rs. 138.8 Cr (vs Rs. 122.5 Cr), with basic EPS at Rs. 9.08 vs Rs. 8.01. Power cables volumes surged 96% YoY and electrical wires grew 6%, while communication cables (both metal-based and OFC) declined due to delayed customer OFC agreements. Consolidated revenue was Rs. 1,594.6 Cr and consolidated PAT was Rs. 162.6 Cr. Margins were under pressure from volatile copper prices, unseasonal rains hitting agricultural wire sales, and a less favourable product mix. The Preform Facility expansion is slightly delayed and is now expected to be commissioned by Q4 FY26. Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP issued a clean limited review report on both standalone and consolidated results.
Positive earnings print with double-digit growth in both revenue and profit, supported by a sharp jump in power cable volumes. However, margin pressure from copper volatility and weather-driven mix changes, plus a soft communication cables segment and a slight delay in the Preform expansion, cap the upside for the stock.
