Fortis Healthcare reported strong full-year results with revenue from operations growing 17.3% to Rs. 91,278 lakhs in FY26 from Rs. 77,828 lakhs in FY25. EBITDA rose 29% to Rs. 21,356 lakhs with margin expanding from 21.3% to 23.4%, while net profit after tax grew 31.5% to Rs. 10,642 lakhs from Rs. 8,094 lakhs. The statutory auditors (BSR & Co. LLP) issued an unmodified opinion but drew an Emphasis of Matter on two unresolved issues: an ongoing SFIO investigation into alleged improper transactions and non-compliances originating prior to 2018, and a September 2022 Supreme Court order directing forensic audit of transactions with RHT Health Trust. Exceptional items contributed a net loss of Rs. 2,224 lakhs. The Board recommended a dividend of Rs. 1 per share and appointed Jitender, Navneet & Co. as Cost Auditor for FY27.
The company delivered robust operational growth with ~31% PAT growth, but investors should note the auditors' Emphasis of Matter flags regarding ongoing regulatory investigations (SFIO, Supreme Court) that could expose contingent liabilities. The expansion in EBITDA margins is a positive sign for profitability.
