Foreign Portfolio Investors remained net sellers in Indian equities in June 2026 with overall outflows of ₹49,340 crore, though selling pressure eased sharply in the second half as FPIs turned net buyers of ₹14,109 crore between June 16-30. Financial services attracted the largest H2 inflows at ₹14,634 crore, followed by construction (₹3,484 crore) and consumer services (₹3,081 crore), while metals & mining (₹4,371 crore), power (₹3,743 crore), and oil, gas & consumable fuels (₹2,789 crore) saw the heaviest sustained outflows. Experts noted that declining crude prices below $72 and expected FCNR(B) inflows could improve India's balance of payments, potentially stabilizing the rupee and reducing FPI selling going forward.
