FPIs stage strong comeback in financials with record fortnightly inflows in 2026

Foreign portfolio investors turned net buyers of Indian equities worth more than Rs 14,000 crore during June 16-30, reversing net sales of Rs 63,450 crore earlier in the month. Financials saw record fortnightly inflows in 2026, aided by the FTSE June 2026 review and easing West Asia tensions, with the sector making up nearly 40 percent of the index. Apart from financials, FPIs were net buyers in construction, consumer services, realty and healthcare, while selling continued in autos, capital goods, oil and gas, power, metals and IT, though the pace of IT selling subsided.
