Fredun Pharmaceuticals has launched 'Snacky Jain' under its Freossi brand, claimed to be India's first pet food product designed around Jain dietary principles — free from root vegetables, meat, and all animal-derived ingredients. The biscuit is positioned as a functional food supporting immunity, digestion, bone health, and energy in pets. It will first roll out across six cities via veterinary clinics, online marketplaces, and retail partners, with phased expansion planned into Ahmedabad, Pune, Bengaluru, and Delhi. The product is manufactured at the company's WHO-GMP-certified Palghar facility. The company highlights India's pet care market at ₹10,000 crore growing at over 22% CAGR, and reported FY25 revenues of ₹456 crore, EBITDA of ₹55 crore, and PAT of ₹21 crore.
This is a niche new product launch in the growing pet care segment, so while it adds to the company's diversification story, it is unlikely to move the needle on overall financials in the near term. For shareholders, it signals continued innovation and entry into a high-growth category, but actual revenue contribution remains to be seen.
