From Rs 4,900 crore to Rs 41,300 crore: How Sanjeev Bikhchandani turned 135 startups into a 743% return machine

Info Edge (India) has deployed approximately Rs 4,900 crore across 135 startups since 2007, with the portfolio now valued at around Rs 41,300 crore, delivering an 8.4x gross multiple and about 33% IRR. The consumer-tech and AI sleeve accounts for the bulk of the value, led by stakes in Eternal (Zomato and Blinkit) and PB Fintech (Policybazaar), while newer AI and deeptech bets exceeding Rs 1,003 crore across 54 companies are positioned ahead of market consensus. Founder Sanjeev Bikhchandani's shareholder letter also highlighted government recognition of portfolio firms such as Gnani.ai, ePlane, and Manastu Space under the IndiaAI Mission and RDI Scheme.
