Gammon India reported a standalone loss of Rs. 1,188.60 crore for FY26 (vs loss of Rs. 3,087.20 crore in FY25) with revenue of Rs. 212.23 crore. Consolidated loss stood at Rs. 1,170.34 crore. Auditors issued a qualified opinion citing uncertainty over Rs. 10 crore claims and Rs. 911.54 crore in disputed penal interest/charges treated as contingent liabilities. A material uncertainty regarding going concern was highlighted — current liabilities exceed current assets by Rs. 12,701.41 crore, lenders have recalled all loans, and winding up petitions have been filed against the company. More than 50% of debt has been assigned to Asset Reconstruction Companies. Trade receivables of Rs. 532.91 crore remain subject to ongoing arbitration appeals. The company is negotiating a resolution plan with lenders and ARC for waiver of interest and penal charges based on a potential investor.
The stock is already suspended from trading. The company is in severe financial distress with massive negative net worth of Rs. 11,755 crore and ongoing legal/recovery actions from lenders. Any resolution plan success is highly uncertain given the multiple variables involved.
