Garware Technical Fibres Ltd has announced a buyback of up to 16,17,500 equity shares (approximately 16.27 lakh shares) at a total consideration of Rs 110 crore (INR 110 crore). The buyback price and per-share price will be determined based on the maximum limit of Rs 11,000 lakh being within the statutory permissible limit of Rs 11,626.47 lakh (standalone) as certified by statutory auditors Mehta Chokshi and Shah LLP. The record date for determining eligible shareholders is May 20, 2026. The buyback will be conducted through the BSE stock exchange mechanism, with Ambit Capital as the merchant banker and 15% of shares reserved for small shareholders. Promoters and promoter group have confirmed they will NOT participate in the buyback, which will benefit public shareholders with a higher entitlement ratio.
Shareholders holding shares as of May 20, 2026 will have the option to tender their shares at the buyback price (to be determined) and receive cash. Since promoters are not participating, public shareholders get a higher buyback entitlement. The buyback will reduce the company's equity base and is expected to support the stock price by creating buying pressure.
