GIC Re, India's largest reinsurer with 52% domestic market share and ranked 9th globally, released its Q4 FY26 investor presentation. Gross Written Premium grew to Rs 44,007 Cr from Rs 41,154 Cr in FY25. Profit After Tax increased significantly to Rs 8,392 Cr (vs Rs 6,701 Cr), while the Combined Ratio improved to 106.02% from 108.8%, indicating better underwriting efficiency. ROE improved to 16.4% and solvency ratio strengthened to 421%. The company operates with 75% domestic and 25% international business mix, and maintains strong investment portfolio of Rs 1,50,474 Cr with 99.13% in sovereign and AAA-rated bonds. Government of India holds 82.40% stake.
