Genus Paper & Boards reported strong Q1 FY26 results, with standalone revenue from operations rising 21.5% year-on-year to Rs. 25,057.35 lakhs (vs Rs. 20,629.23 lakhs in Q1 FY25). Standalone profit after tax jumped about 41% to Rs. 415.99 lakhs (vs Rs. 294.93 lakhs), lifting EPS to Rs. 0.16 from Rs. 0.11. On a consolidated basis, revenue grew to Rs. 25,545.43 lakhs but profit after tax slipped slightly to Rs. 274.01 lakhs from Rs. 282.91 lakhs, mainly because the wholly-owned Coke subsidiary posted a loss of Rs. 141.98 lakhs. The board approved the results and appointed Mr. Sanjay Kumar Agarwal (current CFO since 2014) as Executive Whole-Time Director for three years. Jethani & Associates issued an unqualified limited review report, noting that the prior year's comparable numbers were reviewed by a different auditor (D Khanna & Associates), indicating an auditor change.
Strong top-line growth and a sharp rise in standalone profits are positive for shareholders, though the weakness in the Coke subsidiary and the slightly lower consolidated PAT are mild concerns. The auditor change is a governance event worth tracking in coming quarters.
