Geojit Financial Services held its Q4 FY '26 earnings conference call where management outlined its 'Geojit 2.0' transformation strategy, shifting from a transaction-led broker to a wealth and distribution franchise. The company added 700 employees in FY '26 (650 in sales), invested ~INR10 crores in IT transformation, and incurred ~INR54 crores in total transformation costs. Distribution income grew 10% during the year. AUM stood at INR23,230 crores with total customer assets of INR97,000 crores. The company has ~INR1,115 crores in cash (INR375 crores liquid) and plans to borrow to fund future margin funding and loan against shares book growth. DIFC operations started in February 2026 with client onboarding expected by end of May 2026. Private Wealth AUM grew 40% to ~INR2,400 crores. Management expects new salespeople to break even in 12-18 months and indicated transformation investments will continue for at least 2 more years.
The company is in an investment phase with near-term profitability pressure from strategic spending on people, technology and brand building. However, the shift toward recurring revenue streams (mutual fund distribution, advisory, PMS, insurance) and the growing trail-based AUM should support better operating leverage and profitability over the medium term.
