GIC Housing Finance has allotted 40,000 Non-Convertible Debentures (NCDs) with a face value of Rs. 1,00,000 each, raising a total of Rs. 400 crores on a private placement basis. The NCDs are split into two series: Series 9 Option 1 of Rs. 200 crores at 7.49% p.a. fixed interest, and Series 9 Option 2 of Rs. 200 crores (including a green shoe option of up to Rs. 100 crores) at 7.59% p.a. fixed interest. Allottees include ICICI Bank, Reliance General Insurance, Canara Bank, Royal Sundaram General Insurance, and PGIM India Ultra Short Duration Fund. The NCDs are proposed to be listed on BSE, and the allotment was made under board authority from May 16, 2025.
The company has raised Rs. 400 crores through private NCD placement at competitive rates of 7.49-7.59%, which is neutral to mildly positive for shareholders — it strengthens the company's borrowing base at reasonable costs, though it adds to overall debt obligations.
