Gillette India shared the transcript of its June 12, 2025 analysts call. For the 9-month fiscal year ended March 31, 2025 (due to a change in financial year from July-June to April-March), the company reported sales of Rs 2,232 crore, up 12% year-on-year, and profit after tax of Rs 414 crore, up 40%. Over the past 10 years, the company has delivered consistent mid-single digit sales growth, 19% compounded annual profit growth, and a 4x increase in return on equity. Net profit margin expanded by nearly 400 basis points in the last year, with structural margins improving by about 300 bps driven by productivity savings of over Rs 40 crore. The Oral B Power Oral Care business doubled in 3 years, and the company added 5 million new consumers to Gillette Guard. Management flagged a cautious outlook, noting urban demand remains soft, though rural demand is recovering.
Strong double-digit topline and 40% profit growth, along with margin expansion and 30+ years of uninterrupted dividends, should be viewed positively by shareholders. However, management's reluctance to provide forward margin or A&P guidance and cautious tone on urban demand may limit near-term upside expectations.
