Glenmark Pharmaceuticals has launched TEVIMBRA® (tislelizumab) in India after receiving approval from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO). TEVIMBRA is an anti-PD-1 monoclonal antibody developed by BeiGene (now BeOne Medicines), used for treating non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). This marks Glenmark's first foray into immuno-oncology in India. NSCLC accounts for over 80% of lung cancer cases, and ESCC is the most common subtype of esophageal cancer in India. TEVIMBRA is already approved in the US, EU, Australia, and China, with over 1.5 million patients treated globally and clinical trials involving 14,000 patients across 35 countries.
This launch expands Glenmark's oncology portfolio and could boost future revenue from the high-demand Indian oncology market. It signals a strategic push into innovative, high-value therapies, which may be viewed positively by investors looking for growth beyond generic drugs.
