Global Health Limited (Medanta) reported its highest ever quarterly results for Q1 FY2026. Consolidated Total Income rose 19.1% year-on-year to INR 10,513 million, driven by a 14.2% jump in in-patients and 13.1% rise in out-patients. EBITDA grew 22.6% to INR 2,553 million with margins improving to 24.3% from 23.6% a year ago. Profit After Tax surged 49.6% to INR 1,590 million (margin 15.1%), though part of the boost came from a one-time exceptional gain of INR 196 million related to EPCG license transfers. Developing hospitals (Lucknow, Patna) posted 35.9% revenue growth, international patient revenue climbed 33.8%, and a new 110-bed hospital in Ranchi was launched in July 2025.
A strong all-round quarter with healthy revenue, margin, and patient volume growth is positive for shareholders. However, a meaningful slice of the profit jump is from a non-recurring item, so the underlying earnings momentum is more in the 20-25% range rather than 49.6%. Near-term catalysts include the 550-bed Noida hospital commissioning in Q2 FY2026.
