Global Market: Cerebras bets big on Europe with AI infrastructure expansion amid soaring demand

Cerebras, a US-based AI chipmaker, plans to expand its European AI data centre infrastructure to 200 megawatts of computing capacity by next year, backed by investments worth several billion dollars. The company, which currently operates facilities in France, Finland, and Norway, is riding strong demand for AI inference processors and recently signed a multi-year computing capacity deal with OpenAI through 2028. Cerebras, which listed on US markets in May at about 5.5 billion dollars and now has a roughly 40 billion dollar market cap, faces competition from Nvidia and AMD in the rapidly growing AI chip space.
