Global Market Update | South Korea's Naver jumps 10% on Nvidia's $1 billion investment plan

Nvidia will invest about USD 1 billion in South Korea's Naver by subscribing to 7.2 million new shares at 204,500 won each, a 1 percent discount, giving it a 4.5 percent stake and making it one of the largest shareholders. Brookfield will provide up to USD 9 billion in financing to expand Naver's GAK data centre in Sejong using Nvidia's Vera Rubin and Blackwell platforms, targeting 200 megawatt capacity by 2028. The deal builds on a June agreement to jointly develop gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure for sovereign AI demand across Asia-Pacific, Europe and the Middle East.
