Global Surfaces Limited has filed its June 2025 Investor Presentation with the exchanges. The company manufactures natural stones and engineered quartz products across three facilities (two in Jaipur and one in Dubai), with over 91% of FY25 revenue from exports. FY25 was a weak year with revenue falling to INR 2,076 Mn (from INR 2,253 Mn in FY24), EBITDA collapsing to just INR 20 Mn (margin of 0.96% vs 15.53% prior), and the company slipping into a PAT loss of INR 289 Mn. Management attributes the pressure to commissioning of the Dubai facility in Feb 2024 (full depreciation and interest absorbed), subdued natural stone demand, and a production line being repurposed for the newly launched premium 'Marquartz' product built on exclusive patented technology licensed from a US firm. The stock has materially underperformed the Sensex over the past year, with the share price at INR 107.1 against a 52-week high of INR 253.7.
Shareholders should note this is a challenging transition year with significant margin compression and a swing to losses, largely management-attributed to strategic UAE expansion and a new product ramp-up rather than demand collapse in core engineered stones. Promoter holding remains high at 73.25%, but the stock has already corrected sharply; near-term sentiment is likely weak until Dubai unit utilization and Marquartz scale-up translate into visible margin recovery.
