Godawari Power and Ispat Limited (GPIL) has received approval from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL) for its HT Steel Billets (conforming to IS 14650) for use in manufacturing Galvanized Fabricated Steel Structures for PGCIL's transmission projects. The approval is valid from July 2, 2025 to July 1, 2026. This is a renewal/extension of an earlier approval granted in February 2025. With this approval, GPIL becomes eligible to supply its entire range of HT Steel Billets to all manufacturers of Galvanized Steel Structures serving PGCIL contractors. The company expects this to boost business volumes and profitability, as it can now offer the full range of Galvanized Steel Structures in-house instead of buying costly HT billets from the market.
