Godfrey Phillips India reported strong FY26 results with consolidated Gross Sales Value of Rs. 18,379 Crores (up 27% YoY) and Net Profit of Rs. 1,525 Crores (up 32% YoY). Gross Profit Margin stood at 15.5% while Net Profit Margin improved to 8.3%. The company declared a total dividend of Rs. 50 per share. Domestic cigarette volume grew 20% with direct outlet coverage expanding by 21% to 8.2 lakh outlets. However, management flagged concerns about steep tobacco taxation increases in Q4 FY26, stating it will make the next year challenging, and mentioned working on price increases and operational efficiencies to mitigate impact. Ferrero distribution more than doubled to Rs. 51 Crores.
While FY26 performance was robust with strong volume growth, the management's explicit warning about tax-induced challenges for FY27 suggests potential margin pressure ahead, warranting close monitoring of pricing actions and profitability trajectory.
