Godfrey Phillips India reported Q1 FY26 consolidated gross sales of Rs. 4,094 crore, up 32.6% year-on-year. Net profit rose 25.1% to Rs. 356 crore, while EBITDA grew 25.2% to Rs. 338 crore. Gross profit margin, however, dipped to 15.3% from 16.5% in the same quarter last year, pointing to some cost pressure. Domestic cigarette volumes grew a strong 29% year-on-year, and the international business contributed Rs. 458 crore (25% of net sales), supported by unmanufactured tobacco exports of Rs. 427 crore. Management highlighted growth priorities including the Marlboro partnership with Philip Morris, expansion in export markets, and the Ferrero distribution tie-up.
Strong topline and volume growth signal continued business momentum for shareholders, but the year-on-year decline in gross margin is a watch point that could temper near-term valuation enthusiasm.
